The Prayer Struggle
Share
For some reason, we as Christians often fail to fulfill one of the greatest commands and necessities in our spiritual life: prayer. As simple as the act of prayer is, which is undivided attention and communication with God, either in the silence of our heart or orally expressed, it’s not as simple as we think. Why? because we are in a spiritual battle against our flesh and the powers of darkness around us that strive in opposition against our prayer life.
Imagine this: the enemy knows that a prayerful Christian is closer to God than one who does not pray. And if his sole mission is to “Kill, Steal, and Destroy”, his main objective is to distract you away from your life source - Jesus Christ. And our connection to the life source and victory is prayer.
You may not think much of this; however, when you understand that our battle is not against flesh and blood, or in other words, the physical world, but rather against spiritual forces of evil, you are more likely to understand my point-of-view.
So with this in mind, FIGHT. Fight for your prayer life. Do not let you, your schedule, your kids, or husband, or anything for that matter get in the way of what the lord is doing in your life. Sometimes we are just one prayer away from a breakthrough, healing, peace, or an answer. Life is better when we speak to the one who hears and can do something about it.
Don’t you long to speak to and hear from the one who loves you more than you can ever comprehend? I want to be as close as possible to the one who created me, and I don’t have to wait until I get to heaven to achieve that.
Let’s continue to pray.
